New Job

Today is the last day of my first week at my new job. I love it!! I answer phones, make appointments, and a few other things. I even have my own desk area. HAHA I know whatever, but I'm super excited. I like it so much.

Exciting Life Event # 10

This passed weekend was so much fun!!! Bj, Joey, and I shot skeet all day! It was so much fun. We must have gone through over 100 shells once we were done. Lindsey, Joey's wife, also came over and brought their son Wyatt. He was enjoying watching the goats and watching us shoot skeet. Skeet are clay disks that are thrown into the air for target practice for those of you who do not know what they are. We shot so much that Bj and I both have bruises on our arms from our shotguns. The best $270 I ever spent was on MY Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun. I love this gun. We have so much fun together, and lots of fun doing target practice. I also got to shoot out of the tree stand at my house for the first time! That is a lot of fun too. Especially that I feel like I'm achieving my goals.

Exciting Life Event # 9

I started shooting my bow from 30 yards!! This made me so happy. I feel like I finally gotten the hang of shooting my bow and it's time for me to start pushing myself a little more. I loved it. I did really good with it. I also helped the family build a fence for our goats. They are getting so big. Soon I will have to update my pics of them for everyone to see how much they are growing.

Exciting Life Event # 8

This weekend was great except for getting in trouble with my parents for attitude. But forget that. My exciting life event this weekend was climbing a stick ladder up a tree 20 some odd feet in the air to sit in my millenium hunting stand that Bj bought me last season. I love it!! I was kind of nervous at first since it was my first time ever climbing up a stick ladder, but once I was up there for a bit it was so exciting.

Exciting Life Event # 7

This passed weekend was so much fun. Friday we went to dinner with my mom. Dad had to work :(. Then Saturday Bj had to work, but when he came home we got hang out and shoot bows and play around outside since it was such a gorgeous day. Then on Sunday we helped mom and dad put up the fence for the goat pasture. After that we had tough a time getting them into it because we have one that just doesn't want to be near people. So Steve and Lauren, my brother and sister-in-law came over while we were doing this and they were trying to decide what to for lunch. They all of a sudden decided to do a CRAWFISH BOIL!!! YAY!!!!! It's been so long since we had one of our real crawfish boils with the whole family. It was so much fun we had crawfish, played outside with all the animals, Bj and I shot skeet, and we shot bows. My granny even came outside and rode her golf cart and spent some time with my dad. All in all this was just a really fun weekend.

Exciting Life Event # 6

I had a really great weekend! Thursday I found out that Bj's stepmom wants to sell her bow to me!!! That's super great since I don't have to buy one and have it set up for me. With this one, it's a great starter bow and it's already set up for me. So no saving money and worrying if I'll have one for hunting season! I'm so ready to kill a deer:)

Exciting Life Event # 5

WOW!! This weekend Bj and I went to the Bayou State Bowhunters Association banquet. We had so much fun! First thing Saturday morning we went to breakfast with his dad and stepmom. After breakfast we went straight to the 3-D outdoor shoot. We practiced a little bit then got our score cards and got on the course. Bj's dad did awesome. He missed first place in second flight by scoring one too many twelves. His step mom did great too; she came in sixth place. Bj didn't do too great. He scored a 117 and placed 45th. I did a lot better than anyone expected! I scored a 122 and came in eleventh! I only lost two arrows the whole day and I did better than Bj. I didn't do better than him by much, but I still did better and better than what he expected. After the shoot we went to eat at Outlaw's for lunch, and went shopping at a boot store. After we did all this we went to the hotel took naps and got ready for the banquet. The banquet was amazing. I absolutely loved it. I won a new bow case in the raffle, and my door prize was some candle holders and kitchen rags for the house. In the silent auction Bj won some stuff for the house that he really wanted. He got some wolf statues, four glasses and a glass pitcher with a deer on them, coasters with deer on them that sit in a deer horn. We had an amazing time and came home with a lot. His dad and stepmom won a muzzle loader in the raffle and a gorgeous picture in the live auction. This weekend was so much fun, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I am really looking forward to going back next year!

Exciting Life Event # 4

So after my last class today I decided to work on my blog and my website. Finally, I left school and mom said to go to the feed store to pick up feed for the animals. I called her when I got close and she said she would call ahead and let them know what she needed. When I was almost passed our house she called and said, "Come home now! Forget the feed for now, we're having babies!!" I came straight home and when I got here, there she was. Our goat that we call Nanny had a baby, but while I was home she started having the SECOND one! I was so excited and was ready for this baby. We've been waiting with Nanny being locked in the barn for two weeks and then it happened today. We were so happy and excited! They are super cute, but we don't have names for them yet. We haven't even really named there dad. ;)

Exciting Life Event # 3

This passed weekend I went to Hattiesburg with my family and ate at Panchos! I really enjoyed this. It has been over four years since we have eaten at Panchos together. After we ate lunch we went to Gander Mountain and The Watermelon Patch (a shoe store). I really liked this store. I bought three pair off heals for five dollars each. When I went they had a huge 75% sale. I really enjoyed this store, and I will definitely go back. That night I went to Chalmette to spend the night by Bj, and Sunday after he got home from work we shot our bows. I kind of blew up all my arrows by missing the target and hitting the fence and concrete slab, but I did do pretty good, as you can see in the picture. I wasn't very happy with myself, but Bj always tells me it's the name of the game. He wants me to keep practicing because he believes in me and that I'll get better.

Exciting Life Event #2

I'm super ready for for February 27! Bj and I will be going to Alexandria, LA to the Bayou State Bowhunter's Association banquet. We will be able to do an outdoor shoot, and then later that night at the banquet there will and auction. I ready for an action filled weekend. My plans for the next week are to practice shooting my bow so that I can be ready for the shoot. I enjoy shooting my bow because it is very relaxing and I'm really competitive. I like to try to outshoot Bj, but that doesn't mean I can do it; although, practice does make perfect! I have a picture posted to the side of Bj practicing with his bow. After our trip I will be sure to post some pictures, and post another blog telling about our experience.

Exciting Life Event #1

Moving into a house can be fun right? Well, what if you were like me, and moved because of a hurricane?

It's even more exciting for my boyfriend and me! He purchased my mom and dad's old house in Chalmette, and our contractor just finished remodeling it for us. This past weekend we moved everything into the house and just let me say... "It was the most exciting thing for us in a long time." Moving him into my old house, and seeing how we have changed it is overwhelming. I'm very happy for him, and I am very proud of him for all he has accomplished while the house was being rebuilt. This is one life event that I have had recently experienced that has made my life even better.
